Hexham is the administrative centre for the Tyne District and is approximately 23 miles from Newcastle City centre and 38 miles West of Carlisle.
In 2005 Country Life magazine named Hexham as England's favourite market town thanks to it's exceptional mix of the historic and the practical.
The town is served by Hexham railway station which has an hourly service on weekdays to Carlisle and two trains per hour to Newcastle.
Newcastle Airport is approximately 12 miles to the east and provides 19 daily flights to London (Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and London City), with regular flights to other UK centres.
Within 5 minutes of Beaufront Park local amenities include Waitrose and Tescos, the Wentworth Leisure Centre and Swimming, Hexham Rowing Club, and Hexham Golf Course. Within 15 minutes drive is the famous Hexham Racecourse.
Hexham boasts a great cultural scene and oozes history. Hexham originated as a monastery in 674 and Hexham Abbey dates from 11th Century. In the old market square you can visit the old gaol and keep and of course Hadrian's Wall is only a few minutes by car. The Queens Hall in Hexham is famous for its art, music and drama.
